My Life in Ruins is a romantic comedy starring Nia Vardalos - who is also the co-writer of the film, Richard Dreyfuss, Alexis Georgoulis, Rachel Dratch, Harland Williams and Alistair McGowan.

Set amongst the ruins of ancient Greece, the film has been produced by Tom Hanks and directed by Donald Petrie (How to Loose A Guy in Ten Days).

Watch the trailer and read the plot of the movie:

Its tagline, Falling in love...in all the wrong places, is about a tour guide whose life takes a personal detour, while her group gets entangled in comic situations among the ruins, with a series of unexpected stops along the way.

The two minute long trailer gives glimpses of some spectacular sights in Greece as it covers situations that are hilarious for the audience but trying and exasperating for the sexy Greek girl tourist guide, Georgia.

The film is set on location at Acropolis in Greece and Alicante in Spain, including Guadalest and Javea. This is the first American film shot on location at the Acropolis. The Greek government gave the studio its approval after Vardalos sought permission to do several scenes there.

The film is scheduled to be released on May 8, 2009.

Plot:

Georgia (Nia Vardalos) is a Greek-American tour guide, who leads an assorted group of misfit tourists around Greece; tourists who would rather buy a T-Shirt than learn about history. In a hysterical clash of personalities and cultures, everything seems to go wrong. Until one day when a very special tourist, Irv Gordon (Richard Dreyfuss), shows her how to have fun and take a good look at the last person she'd ever expect to find love with.... her quiet and sexy Greek man bus driver (Alexis Georgoulis).
